A New Creation

My Heavenly Father,

I am grateful beyond words for all You provide, and mostly I am grateful that I don't have to walk around with a bag of sins, or a record of my rights and wrongs. I'm grateful for Your birth and what it brought, Your death and what it meant, and all the time in between. I'm grateful that You are still right here with me. 'You could've left me on my own, but you're here.'

Looking back, I know it took moving me away from what I know and letting me experience ups and downs to get me to be the servant You need. I know that every step and every stumble was used to make me a woman who will openly proclaim my faith and my love for an amazing God. I know You had to pull me out of my skin, and shift me out of myself, to get me to a mindset that I have now. I am forever grateful for this, too.

I believe YOU have given me a personality that is approachable, loving, and draws people in. I pray you will continue to use that for Your good; I pray people would always feel comfortable and safe in my company. I believe YOU have given me words to speak and write, and I pray You would use them to encourage and inspire. And I believe YOU have given me a heart full of compassion, tenderness, and love and I pray that You would use it for the good of Your people and Your kingdom. I pray, as the Keeper of my heart, that you would teach me to guard it, and continue to put me in awe for all that You do for my heart.

I am a fiercly independent person, but what I want is to be an inconveniently dependent person. I want YOU to use me for the great things you intended. I pray that You will be amazed by me as You were in the Roman centuriot. I pray You will teach me to be a humble, submissive follower, and an obedient servant, and that I would listen, live and respond with reckless abandon.

I love You and I worship You, and You alone. You are my protector, my knight, my teacher, and my Father. You have made me a new creation; pure, clean, and worthy. Without You, I am nothing and I have nothing to offer. Please teach me to be a servant, hungry for You and Your words. Teach me to be a light to everyone. Teach me to listen and quickly respond. Teach me to be the woman You always planned for me to be. Wherever I go, from here on out, help me to follow You, and You alone.

I pray, in Your awesome and wonderful name,
Amen

Isaiah 66
Judgment and Hope
1 This is what the LORD says:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be?
2 Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?”
declares the LORD.

“This is the one I esteem:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit,
and trembles at my word.
